For the cycle “On the footsteps of a dancing god” – a meeting with Paolo Pecere
As part of its activities dedicated to philosophical reflection, to the disciplines of anthropology and dance, to the protection of material and immaterial cultural heritage, this autumn L’OFFICINA Imagination Lab, in collaboration with Baubò Parole e Imaginazioni, has invited Professor Paolo Pecere for a afternoon of study on the themes of Dionysism and its permanence in the cultures of the world.
Paolo Pecere is professor of history of philosophy at the University of Roma Tre. Researcher in the philosophical, anthropological and ethnographic fields, he is the author of the volume “The God Who Dances. Travel, trance, transformations” (Edizioni Nottetempo 2021) an anthropological essay and intimate travel diary which will be the starting point of the meeting.

After sharing the pleasure of reading Paolo Pecere’s essay, “The sense of nature” that guides our journey this year at L’OFFICINA, we will have the joy of talking about it with the author for an informal aperitif under the stars, when he will tell us about his further travels, discoveries and reflections.
Paolo Pecere is a professor of History of Philosophy at the University of Roma Tre. A researcher in the philosophical and ethnographic fields, he has written numerous volumes, including “Il dio che danza. Viaggi, trance, trasformazioni “(Edizioni Nottetempo 2021) which he told us all about during a previous visit at OIL.
