National Tree Day

On 21 November, in collaboration with L’Ecomuseo del Paesaggio Orvietano, the Orvieto Landscape Ecomuseum, we have celebrated the National Tree Day together with the children of the Monteleone D’Orvieto elementary school and their teachers.
After making the introductions with a game, the actress and theater pedagogue, Veronica Galeazzo, read us the poem “the birch forest”, and with the help of Stefano Volpi, we planted a young pomegranate tree, a symbol of fertility and prosperity.
After the snack that the children brought from home, we moved to the laboratory to view together the animated story “The Man Who Planted Trees” based on the text by Jean Giono. The little ones have greatly appreciated the moral of the story that talks about rebirth and recalled the indispensable contribution of trees to combating the climate crisis.
They then wrote on a piece of golden paper what they would like to see grow in our community, crumpling it up to make a seed and plant it at the foot of our pomegranate.
Many of them have sown peace and since 2022, every year, the children come back to celebrate the tree planting one at L’OFFICINA.

The Carnival of animals

On February 21st, we have celebrated Shrove Tuesday with the children of the elementary school of Monteleone D’Orvieto.

With the background of Camille Saint-Saëns’s music, “The Carnival of Animals”, the children have listened to the short poems by Chiara Carminati and have impersonated the various animals described by the music: lions, turtles, elephants, kangaroos, fish, expressing and naming physical and emotional characteristics that the little ones attributed to them.

The workshop has emphasized movement, breathing, vocalization, as well as silence, calm, and relaxation, symbolized by the swan that concluded the journey.

Agua Viva

Multimedia show of the “Sibilla” Company

“Agua Viva” is the result of travel experiences in thirsty lands, of encounters with peoples who make water into a divinity, a spiritual, vital and expressive symbol. And it is also a reflection on the human condition, in search of universal values of existence.
The show we invited the children to view, is the meeting of multiple expressive languages: dance, singing, poetic text, music, video projections, sounds of nature. By and with Stefania Libera Ceccarelli with the dancer Keba Seck, assisted by the technician Michele Pica, the show has been presented in a matinee for the students of our elementary school who have brought poems and drawings fruit of their reflection about water, to share with the artists.
